São Paulo Museum Meeting
Since 2009, the State Secretariat of Culture annually holds the São Paulo Museum Meeting. The event is held by the State Museum System (SISEM-SP) and the Cultural Association for Support to Portinari’s House Museum (ACAM Portinari). With over one thousand participants each year – among mayors, culture secretaries, museum directors and professionals from the State of São Paulo and around the country – the São Paulo Museum Meeting aims at discussing the management and policies of Brazilian museological Institutions and broaden the dialogue and collaboration network for museums in São Paulo.
The three-day program counts on the presence of renowned specialists in talks and panels that discuss present museological themes; the balance of regional representatives and thematic network activities; the election of representatives of the SISEM-SP Guidance Council and regional representatives; institutional presentations talking about projects executed by museums in São Paulo; technical visits and workshops at the capital’s museums.
